The system change from AGS to DMS will have major changes as well as relatively minor changes. Unlike AGS, DMS is divided into two components: DMS4.0 for the standard procedure and DMS4.1 for Entry in the Declarant’s Records (EIDR).
Some data elements are completely new while other data elements already exist but will need to be presented to Customs in a different way. This means that there will be both systematic changes as well as changes in the work processes of the parties involved.
