NCTS 5 – Several countries to transition soon

Common Transit members continue to transition to NCTS 5 and there are a number of countries which will transition in the next couple of weeks.

Below is a list of countries scheduled to transition;

• Serbia – 25th November 2023 (Postponed – new date 28.01.2024)

• Latvia – 27th November 2023

• Ukraine – 1st December 2023 (Postponed – new date to be confirmed)

These dates are subject to change as customs may decide to postpone their transition to NCTS 5.

The transition to NCTS 5 will bring some minor changes in data entry most notably at document level where the document categories and document codes have been renamed but remain very similar to NCTS 4.

Users will also notice some changes to the Security Data section where they will need to add place (city/town) and country of loading/unloading depending on their choice.

There may be some specific requirements that certain customs authorities require. Such requirements are considered and validated in TransitNet.

In case of any questions regarding NCTS 5, please do not hesitate to contact your local SGS TransitNet client centre.
