TransitNet has completed transition to CDS for EXS
Over the last few years, the UK have been in the process of migrating their export and import systems from the old system known as CHIEF to the new system known as CDS (Customs Declaration System).
Since Brexit, SGS TransitNet clients have been able to submit EXS declarations to CHIEF as part of their transit declarations. For context, EXS has been mandatory for all shipments which cross the UK and do not have a previous UK export declaration.
TransitNet has successfully migrated the EXS service from CHIEF to CDS and since the 31st May 2024, all EXS declarations submitted via TransitNet are now submitted to CDS.
To select the EXS service in TransitNet, when the declaration meets the conditions of requiring EXS, users should;
1) Check the GB EXS service in Additional Services section at Header Level
2) Choose the location code of the goods (This can depend on the ferry company or whether the port uses GVMS)
3) Save and submit the transit group
4) The EXS MRNs/DUCRs will be returned and visible in TransitNet and are also sent by no reply email to the clients address
