Important requirements of Bulgarian customs
Bulgarian customs have informed of several important aspects on the completion of transit declarations from Bulgaria.
Importance of ensuring complete documentation is provided with transit declarations
TransitNet users upload the documents at header level of the declaration and link the documents at item level to ensure the required documents are sent and visible in the Bulgarian customs system.
However Bulgarian customs have noted the following requirements;
• Uploaded CMRs should be stamped by the transporter and consignor
• Uploaded Commercial or proforma invoices should be contain all pages – incomplete documents will not be accepted
Please ensure that all documents are uploaded correctly.
Customs office of exit for transit
Bulgarian customs have also indicated that it is now mandatory to include a customs office of exit for transit in all transit declarations starting in Bulgaria and exiting the European Union from Bulgaria.
Customs will refuse declarations which do not contain this data element in the transit declaration.
In TransitNet, the customs office of exit for transit is added by choosing the transit office and then clicking on the chip to change the role of the customs office. The user should choose the “Exit for Transit” option to add customs office of exit for transit.
