Vanaf 30 september 2023 is het volgens Artikel 3 octies van Verordering 833/2014 verboden om direct of indirect, ijzer- en staalproducten zoals opgelijst in de bijlage XVII van de voormelde verordening in te voeren of aan te kopen wanneer die in een derde land zijn verwerkt door verwerking van in bijlage XVII vermelde ijzer- en staalproducten van oorsprong uit Rusland.
